The LM Ericsson Prize Committee for the award of
THE LM ERICSSON PRIZE
for significant contributions within telecommunications research
and engineering has decided to award the 1982 prize to
Dr Leonard Kleinrock
and
Dr Lawrence G. Roberts
to be equally divided for their fundamental contributions
to the development of new techniques for data transmission.
Through his scientific work, Kleinrock has created a school
for the theoretical treatment of data traffic problems.
